Jarell Perry

A lot of people have been asking me who the singer is on the track “It’s Alright”. His name is Jarell Perry and he is a very talented singer from Los Angeles. I discovered him on You Tube about a year ago. I saw that there was a video for Coldplays “Viva La Vida”, I thought oh this will be horrible, and good for a laugh. After hearing the first few bars I was very surprised to hear Jarell’s voice. I contacted him to do the track and he accepted. He has grown in popularity over the year and is on his way to stardom. Chris Brown-Graffiti

So after listening to Chris Browns new album Graffiti, I would have to say that not every song is good, but the majority of songs are. One of the biggest problems with POP/R&B is that artists have a problem with album continuity, and too many producers. Most people don’t like listening to albums with over 12 tracks. So when you listen to one that has 16-22 tracks on it you just get overwhelmed with good and bad songs. But I will say this. If you like R&B you should buy this album unless you are making a political statement against Chris Brown. But with no politics involved I must say he is the most talented Modern R&B singer at the moment, excluding Justin Timberlake.

Timbaland-Shock Value 2

Dec. 8th is the release date for Timbalands Shock Value 2. I look forward to hearing the whole album. Timbaland is really good a creating unique productions that change the way pop music sounds, but it is difficult to keep that trend going. Most people only have a small window of about 10 years to create groundbreaking trends. Think of all your favorite groups/bands/producers and what not, then think about how they had a great 10 year ride. Sure they can still be famous and sell out concerts, but they then have to stick with their classics, they can’t start playing their new stuff. Timbaland is just finishing his tenth year in the business. We will have to wait and see tomorrow if he can bring the magic again.

So I just listened to Shock Value 2. To sum up if he brought the magic again: NO

One Republic

I am writing today to explain my frustration in people not buying One Republics album, “Waking Up”. This album came out 2 weeks ago and has fallen hard fast. It is a great album with some really catchy songs. “Secrets”, and “Good Life” are very emotionally charged hits. So my recommendation to all you lovers of great Pop music is to buy this album and support a great band, and a great songwriter in Ryan Tedder.

Anthony Snape

If you haven’t heard of Anthony Snape, you will. He is a very talented singer/songwriter from Australia who lives in Nashville now and is on the verge of becoming a star. Watch the youtube video to see him wow Kara DioGuardi. Kara is a judge on American Idol, but more importantly she is one of the top songwriters in the pop music field. Her comments are really complimentary of Anthony and his talent.
